Set Review: (2020) LEGO Star Wars 75248 Resistance A-wing Starfighter
269 Pieces | 2 Minifigures | $29.99 (US Retail)
November 22th, 2020
This set comes with two Minifigures, Snap Wexley and Lieutenant Connix. Both Minifigures are detailed with front and back torso printing and, Unfortunately, the only extra amount of detail they both share. Snap is the only Minifigure in this set with leg printing whereas Connix is the only Minifigure with double head printing.
Fun Fact: The actress who plays Lieutenant Connix (Billie Lourd) in Star Wars (Episodes 7, 8, & 9) is the daughter of Carrie Fisher the actress who played Princess Leia Organa.
Surprisingly fantastic! I'm thoroughly impressed and fully surprised on how much I enjoyed completing this set. Completing this set resulted in a very sturdy and solid design with a lot of little details that are surprisingly accurate to the original source material. This set looks good front to back and top to bottom.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of stickers! I really wish there were some printed pieces in this set, but apparently, the Lego company wanted us to suffer by having to apply every thin striped sticker including the one on the cockpit, which was exceptionally frustrating to align.
It's pretty but how does it work? There's not a lot of playability and this site but for what it has, it does deliver in a very sleek and reserved way. There are retractable landing gear and 2 spring-loaded shooters which are located under the hood of the A-Wing. There are two hidden buttons by the black grill pieces on the hood, pressing them will fire off the red spring-loaded shooters. This set is might appeal more to older builders.
Fun Fact: A-wing starfighters are the fastest starfighters in their respective fleet. Due to its twin engines and pointed thin design, the A-Wing is even faster than even the TIE interceptor.
Seems familiar. Lego made a lot of A-Wing Starfighters over the years and I think the only one that's comparable to this set would have to be the 2017 A-Wing Starfighter (set number 75175).
Both of these sets are very similar in build, with some differences here and there, but I think this 2020 set has a sleeker design.
Ok cool, but now it’s time for real talk. I'm gonna list the pros and cons.
I Love the accurately solid design and hidden playability.
I Hate the excessive amount of stickers.
Tell them how you really feel. Overall, was a satisfying build with fine detail, Decent Minifigures, and not enough printed pieces.
4 out of 5
These are just my thoughts and opinions, what do you think?
Did you purchase this set? Why or why not? I’d love to know!
As always, Enjoy & Farewell!
